Meditation for the Rest of Us . . .

I want to be a great psychic medium, but I couldn’t meditate to save my life. I was told and read that you had to meditate twice a day for twenty minutes a day, give up caffeine, red meat, and the list went on and on. I had a hard time focusing! I couldn’t quiet my mind. I’d be in a quiet meadow with green grass and pretty flowers and all of a sudden a herd of wild horses and buffalo came running through my mind, followed by the Ringling Brothers and Barnum and Bailey circus. You get the point.

At the same time I had a hard time giving up my Tarot cards while connecting to spirit. I wasn’t reading the cards, just shuffling them in my hands. I gave my left brain something to do, while I communicated to those on the other side with my right brain. Later I chose to rub a crystal or old coin with my left hand, while communicating with my right brain. Could I communicate with the dead without something in my hand? Sure I could. But what the hell would my left brain do?
I attacked the meditating problem the same way. Psychic Shannon Maxey told me that people that are clairaudient (psychic hearing) have trouble quieting their minds. She suggested letting the noise come in one side and out the other. Have you ever had a conversation with someone with the TV or radio on? Sure you have!

I tried an experiment. I took one of my favorite songs that I like listening over and over to and recorded it about a dozen times on a CD. On some CD players you can just press the play again button. I put on my headphones, got into the music and it was fairly loud, got into my pickup (in my mind), drove up to the stucco cabin in New Mexico (still in my mind), left all of my problems in a big chest on the front porch and opened the door. I sat down in a chair and talked with four of my Spirit Guides and my deceased grandfather.

We talked for about thirty minutes, straightened out what I needed to do and how life was going. I left the cabin, arrived back in my mind and noticed there was a song playing in my ears. How about that! I didn’t even notice the music in the cabin. The experiment worked. Now I meditate with my favorite music playing in the background and get into the zone. I use music to raise my vibrations before I give readings. It doesn’t have to be quiet, new age music. I use classic rock, hard rock, soul, R&B and even Disco!

I’m sure you could be a better medium by giving up Mountain Dew and red meat. But I decided to develop my skills while indulging Dew and sirloin steaks. The spirits I talk to don’t seem to mind and I’ve never received a lecture from the other side. So do what you can, with what you have, relax and let it come.

Deuces, Steve

I’m curious if you still do medium work, have openings and if you’re still in touch w/ Shannon. I’m trying to find a medium for a friend, your blog came up when I Googled Shannon and I can’t reach her. It’s only been about 20 years since we last spoke – wonder why?!? let me know sir! Thank you kindly!
