You Go Girl! (Written for some of my clients, they know who they are.)
Got in the truck after picking up the granddaughters from school one day and the 4-yr-old announced that she had a boyfriend. “What?” I said. She said I have a boyfriend and his name is Jack!
I said, does he know he’s your boyfriend? She said, “Yes, because I told him he was!” So, you went up to him and told him he was your boyfriend? Yes, and then we played with some toys.
Couple of months later and he’d lost interest and didn’t want to play the games she was into. So she got another boyfriend, the same way. “You’re my boyfriend now.”
Some of you out there were raised old school and there are men out there that don’t know that they are your boyfriend yet. You need to tell them. They are shy or think you are out of their league, so it will be up to you to ask them if they want to get some coffee or go out to lunch.
If he’s the one, you may have to escalate it to dinner, a movie or a date. Eventually you will have to tell him, “by the way, you’re my boyfriend.” Women are smarter than men and your prince, who’s really a great guy and your soulmate, may not know that he is a prince.
It’s a different world now. The princess doesn’t need saving. Find your courage and save the world. After that, if you want a friend, lover or soulmate, find one.
