What the Hell is Karma Anyway?

I watch a bully hit a smaller kid and walk off. The smaller kid hopes he gets hit by a bus, but I know different. It doesn’t work that way. I don’t believe in instant karma, regardless of what videos you’ve seen on Facebook. I mean every once in a while the mean kid does get hit by the bus, but it was not for the sin of hitting the little kid.

Karma is proportional. You always hear that in the movies. Some foreign country killed five of our soldiers and we need a proportional response. Hell, we could blow them up to Tucumcari, but that’s not karmic. Karma, is not even a retribution or reward, it just seems that a way. Say you hurt someone’s feelings by telling them they had big ears for example. It is all cause and effect. To even out the negative and positive of the world, someone, some day will hurt your feelings, the same way you did to a person. Now it may not happen soon, or you may never get another chance in this life for that matter, because you’re getting hit by a bus and won’t be with us much longer. But not for hitting a smaller kid.

Your karma is unbalanced, plus you did some other bad things to hurt people and your karma has yet to equal out. It’s not a punishment. It’s so you can learn how bad it hurts too. So your subconscious and something in time and space continuum called the Akashic Records hold these scores, as they will be evened in the next life. Kind of like the Bible saying that you pay for your sins. But is more like equaling out your sins and good deeds. Former writer and gunslinger, Bat Masterson, wrote: “There are many in this old world of ours who hold that things break about even for all of us. I have observed for example that we all get the same amount of ice. The rich get it in the summertime and the poor get it in the winter.”

The do unto others thing, that Jesus said, really works well in karma. Just like when Jesus healed the blind man’s eyes. The disciples asked was he punished for something he did. Meaning, did he do something wrong in his past life that he was born blind or is it something his parents did? So they were asking is this karmic for the parents because they did something bad and had a blind son. No, he told his disciples, he was born blind so I could come to heal him. So now think about, karma, reincarnation and a little predestination? How about the ones he brought back from death?

So I’ve killed you in some life and I hope you have already killed me in another. I stole your girlfriend in Australia and you stole mine in Africa or was it Mexico. You see where I’m going. You killed me/I killed you. It’s even! Did we learn anything? Yeah, it sucks to be dead! Life is better than death, it’s a start. You get to move to another level in heaven and get a better spiritual education in the next life and let’s see if you can help a lot of people in need.

So to me karma is a tit for tat of fairness. Don’t have any negative karma, then you get to cash in the positive karma. So you’re flush with positive karma? Keep paying it forward as you have learned very valuable lessons. You will be able to evolve into a more spiritual person and get to work with more spiritual people on this side and the other, what I call heaven. Save up those good deeds as if they are uncashed lotto tickets that are good until the end of time. I promise you they will come in handy! In this life or the next.
