About half the time I bring through a veteran for a family member, the family doesn’t know anything about their service to our country. They may not have talked about it while they were alive because it brought back too many painful memories. But, they were proud of their accomplishments. Some earned purple hearts and bronze stars that the family didn’t even know about. Do your homework into your past and look up online with the military branch your loved one served and you will be able to find out more about their life and your history. They may not of talked about it while they were alive, but you will be able to trace back in time a piece of their life that shaped them and eventually how they interacted with you!
